The Economic Development Department of Kennesaw was established to improve the quality of life for our residents. By growing and nourishing a healthy economic environment, we increase not only the number and variety of available jobs for our community members, but also improve the day-to-day experience of life in Kennesaw. We work towards this goal through performing four key functions:
Encouraging economic growth through business attraction and retention,
Promoting small business development,
Supporting commercial revitalization, and
Encouraging tourism.
The department also strives to create an environment that welcomes the input and concerns of individuals, local business, and the development community in order to better serve the City’s retention and expansion needs.
There are seven members of the Kennesaw Development Authority. Members shall be taxpayers residing in the County or Municipality for which the authority is created, and their successors shall be appointed as provided by the resolution provided for in O.C.G.A 36-62-4
